Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrive Varanasi, Embarkation

Arrive Varanasi and embark the ship (Embarkation: 12:00 Hrs).

Varanasi is one of the oldest and most fascinating cities in India. With its array of shrines, temples, and palaces, rising in several tiers from the water’s edge, Varanasi is the holiest city for Hindus.

In the evening, sail up to Ravidas ghat, where we will ride a country boat to see the “Ganga Aarti” performed by a group of priests lined up on the riverbank chanting mantras and performing the prayer ritual with lamps, incense, and traditional instruments to honor the river. We sail back to the jetty in the country boat.

Dinner and overnight on board the ship.

Day 2: Varanasi

After breakfast, we will sail to Assi Ghat, disembark at the ghat to visit ‘Kashi Vishwanath Temple’. Stroll in the Vishwanath Gali (street), and experience the hustle and bustle of devotees and road side vendors. Visit the Temple for “Darshan” and offering prayers to Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of the city. Further proceed to visit Sarnath, the seat where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment in Bodhgaya. The Archaeological Museum here contains a large collection of sculptures that stand testimony to the fervent artistic and religious activity for more than a thousand years. Visit the local bazaar for shopping the famous “banarasi” silk, muslin, perfumes, and other handicrafts that Varanasi is famous for. Return to the ship and enjoy lunch onboard. Later enjoy sailing and see the life along the river. Dinner and overnight on board the ship.
