Coming to Kolkata and then moving towards jetty for getting on board. Lunch will be served while travelling by ship. After that, go see Mother Teresa’s House and Grave. Mother Teresa began the Missionary of Charity organization and was active in it until she passed away in 1997. There is a constant exhibition that requires us to visit her personal room, where we understand her life history and observe her still ongoing charity work. We then return back onto our ship for overnight stay. Enjoy cultural performance onboard.

Once you finish breakfast, we will take a wide-ranging tour to explore the old buildings in Dalhousie Square; St. John’s Church and Victoria Memorial are on our list as well. After that, return to the ship for sailing towards Bandel. The lunch is provided onboard. In the evening, we will go to see Hooghly Imambara. It is a well known place for Shiya pilgrims and offers accommodation along with classrooms for them. After this visit, our journey continues towards Kalna. We have dinner on Ganges Voyager ship where we also spend night.
After breakfast, you will take a ride in electric rickshaws around the town to see the Rajbari Temple complex. The Nabakailas Temple has 108 shrines with eight-slope-roofs that are dedicated to Lord Shiva. You’ll also find other temples within this area boasting variations of architecture and terracotta plaques which show themes from Hindu epic stories and different elements of everyday life. Walk back to the ship passing through the local market for vegetables. Start sailing towards Matiari, a village by the shore, as you lunch on board. Dinner and overnight stay will be on Ganges Voyager.
Before morning, I take a stroll in the village to observe and understand how these skilled workers perform their craft. They use reused copper to make beautiful pots, dishes and many more within their workshop spaces here in this village. Post that, we head back for our breakfast on ship before setting sail towards Khushbagh. Have lunch on the ship. In the afternoon, travel through agricultural land to see the Mughal-style Garden that Nawab Ali Wardi Khan constructed. Inside, there is a private mosque of Nawab and Siraj-ud-Daula’s tomb; he was Bengal’s last Nawab who suffered defeat from British East India Company at Plassey battle. Once you complete breakfast, discover the delightful village of Baranagar. This is a perfect representation of rural life in India. Don’t miss out on visiting the Char Bangla terracotta temple from 18th century that’s built by Rani Bhabani, who was the landlady of Natore locality. After spending time there return back to ship and continue your voyage towards Murshidabad direction. Lunch onboard. After that, go to the Hazarduari Palace which is a prominent feature near the water. Travel using e-rickshaws and head for Katra mosque, notable for its unique minarets. After a peaceful morning of having breakfast and watching the people live by the riversides, we reach Mayapur. This place is headquarters for International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). After lunch we can walk in pilgrim’s market, meet those who follow Krishna and see temple which has size similar to Vatican. Alfred B. Today, we journey to Chandernagore which is a property of France. After breakfast, we look around the French colonial structures along the seaside path including where once lived the governor from France but now it’s turned in exhibit place showing things telling about life back then. We will also see Sacred Heart Church that shows beautiful building style during time of France rule. Go back to the ship and carry on with our trip towards Kolkata, having lunch while aboard. We will reach Kolkata in the evening time. Dinner and night stay will be within Ganges Voyager.
Today, we are going to Chandernagore, a place set up as a French colony. After eating breakfast, look around the buildings from the French colonial times by walking along the promenade. There is an old building where the French governor used to live; now it has been turned in museum showing things that talk about life during those days. Don’t forget to see Sacred Heart Church which shows us how beautiful structures were made when this area was under France’s influence. Go back to the ship and persist with our trip towards Kolkata as you relish onboard lunch. We reach Kolkata by evening time. Evening meal & overnight stay on Ganges Voyager
